…passionate about Africa and Pan Africanism? Resident in an African country?Dedicated to bringing together different regional and global actors? And cannot get enough of working within international environments? Then you should apply to be the next IAPSS Africa’s country coordinator. Join the largest network of political science students[1] worldwide with six regional chapters and participate in various projects that you can manage and develop independently!

Internally, we are a team of highly dedicated students and junior professionals devoted to make an impact on a global scale. We look for individuals motivated to move mountains and thereby bringing together political science students worldwide to shape the future.

🔺 You must be a Citizen and resident in

🔺 Your tasks

You will be coordinating the membership drive and creating local part ways for the IAPSS in your country. Your core area of work will be to create a structure for the IAPSS in your country and push the membership drive initiative with various organisations and institutions in collaboration with the African Chair. You will be reporting to the African Chair and the Regional leadership committee.

🔺 Your skills and experiences

Independent in your work ethics: we are specifically looking for proactive people who anticipate problems and solve them before they occur;
Be a citizen of an African country
Resident in an African country
Coordinate the membership drive for the IAPSS in Africa
Availability for around 10 hours per week;
Working experience in INGOs;
Communicative skills within both formal discussions and informal conversations;
Excellent oral and written skills in English .
Ability to speak other African language is an added plus

IAPSS is a community of political science students. However, we appreciate the diversity and reality of politics and political science. We welcome applications from all related disciplines including business, gender studies, law or environmental sciences. You are currently not enrolled because you are for example in a gap year between your Masters and your PhD? No problem: the enrollment in a university program is no disqualifier for the position.
