The IAPSS World Congress is the International Association for Political Science Students’ main annual event, with participants from over 50 countries.

Once a year, the World Congress provides an academic program, as well as networking opportunities with high-level stakeholders and scholars. With a truly international audience from all sub-disciplines of political science, international relations, and neighboring social sciences, the IAPSS World Congress is a unique event for individual academic learning, vivid debate, and networking.

Political Theory SRC Lecture: Politics of Self-Governance under the Paris Agreement? Explaining the Emergence of Sub-state Actorness in Climate Change

On April 9th, PhD Candidate Ana Raquel Dias will discuss the affirmation of sub-state authorities as global actors, and their emerging dynamics in climate matters within the Paris Climate Agreement. The lecture will focus on the participation of sub-state authorities in global governance for the efficient delivery of international targets, and on their demand for ‘self-governance’ while competing with the centrality of states.
