About IAPSS Regions and their roles: IAPSS Global has IAPSS Regional Committees serving the following seven (7) geographic areas: IAPSS Canada & USA, IAPSS Latin America & the Caribbean, IAPSS Europe, IAPSS MENA (Middle East, North Africa), IAPSS Africa, IAPSS Asia, and IAPSS Oceania. The regions’ responsibility and mandate involves the following fields: A) Creating and building a political science student network in the respective region in accordance with the proclaimed values and mission of the association; B) Offering programs of any kind that provide IAPSS members’ professional learning experiences and access to a professional junior community in their respective region; and C) Embedding and linking the association into regional, national, and local networks of political science students.

IAPSS Latin America & the Caribbean

    1. Regional Media Coordinator
      1. Akin to the Media Managers and Press Officers of IAPSS Global, this position is in charge of maintaining the region’s presence in the region. This includes finding initiatives to promote the Regional Chapter through various media including but not limited to online social media initiatives such as posts, podcasts, blogs, or vlogs projects.

IAPSS Canada & USA

  1. Regional Project and Events Coordinator
    1. Akin to Head of Programs, this position is in charge of all the projects of the region from drafting the project proposals to their implementation.
  2. Regional Outreach Coordinator
    1. Akin to a mix of ExCom roles, this position is in charge of seeking grant and funding opportunities which are bound to a region and assisting their respective Chair s in enlarging their Regional Chapter’s network of possible partners It can also look after IAPSS memberships in the region, work with the Regional Media Coordinator for social media outreach, and work on partnerships.
  3. Regional Media Coordinator
    1. Akin to the Media Managers and Press Officers of IAPSS Global, this position is in charge of maintaining the region’s presence in the region. This includes finding initiatives to promote the Regional Chapter through various media including but not limited to online social media initiatives such as posts, podcasts, blogs, or vlogs projects.
  4. Regional Liaison Coordinator
    1. An extra position to assist the Chair and Outreach Coordinator, this position is in charge of creating partnerships within the region such as leading the process of registering IAPSS as a member organization of local youth forums and other student advocacy platforms.

IAPSS Europe

    1. All positions are full.

IAPSS Oceania (Need a regional chair first.)

 

Key Roles Available (Elected or ExCom Appointment):

    1. IAPSS Oceania Regional Chair

Acting akin to the IAPSS President, the region’s Chair manages the affairs of the regional committee, and works directly on the region’s partnerships. The Chair is also the connection to the IAPSS ExCom, and shall attend monthly Regions Meetings. These positions require an election or consensus-appointment by the ExCom. Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Student Status: Must be currently enrolled in a university, studying political science, international relations, or related fields.
  2. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey IAPSS’s mission and opportunities.
  3. Networking: Strong ability to build and maintain relationships within the university community and with IAPSS.
  4. Leadership: Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to inspire and mobilize peers.
  5. Organization: Strong organizational skills to manage events and activities.
  6. Passion: Genuine interest in political science, international relations, and student engagement.

Requirements:

  1. Current university student (BA/MA/PhD) in political science, international relations, or related fields.
  2. Commitment to filling the role until May 31st, 2026.
  3. Availability to participate in department meetings as organized by the department head.
  4. Ability to dedicate a few hours per week to fulfilling the role’s responsibilities.
  5. B1+ English.

Note that all IAPSS positions are voluntary and non-remunerated. No travelling is expected for these positions.
