The Academic Department of the International Association for Political Science Students (IAPSS here and after) is looking for a General Research Coordinator.

The General Research Coordinator is responsible for the following:
● Setting short-, medium-, and long-term goals and objectives for the department’s academic development in cooperation with the SRCs and the Think Tank is a unique opportunity to contribute to our academic growth.
● Cooperating with Student Research Committees on their “semester themes”;
● Harmonising the research efforts of the SRCs, the Think Tank, the Journals, and the Blog;
● Managing the presentations and workshops calendar of the SRCs, Think Tank, Journals and Blog;
● Supporting the two Journals and the Blog with research-related tasks;
● Supporting the two Journals and the Blog with the research portion of in-person and virtual events
● Experience in academic research and writing
● Basic knowledge and experience in grant writing
The General Research Coordinator will be reporting and working along with the Head and the Deputy Head of the Academic Department.
Essential Requirements:
● A Master’s (ongoing or graduated) in Political Science, International Relations, Civics, or related disciplines.
● B2+ English. Oral and Written knowledge of other languages will be appreciated.
● Excellent communication skills, ability to work in multicultural environments, and excellent administrative and time management abilities, offering a chance to learn and grow in a diverse setting. Experience in organising/coordinating virtual events and workshops via Zoom or other platforms will be an advantage.
● Prior experience in research groups/teams will be an asset.
● Most importantly, the willingness to help and support students and young academics from all over the world is an inspiring and motivating role.
● Respective and appreciative of the multicultural work environment and assignment deadlines.
Prefered Requirements and Qualification
These requirements stated below are desired in the potential candidate, but if not, training will be provided.
● Basic knowledge of both theory and practice of research methodology (social sciences).
● Grant and Research Proposal Writing
●A good understanding of Google Workspace and MS Office.
Expected involvement: 5 hours per week. The individual is assumed to continue office until May 31st, May 2025, unless further notified of any update.
Pre-Requisites: Access to well-established internet services and technological devices to access meeting and work documents.
